President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, on Monday, August 8, relaunched the War Against Indiscipline, (WAI) Brigade, in Abuja. According to Vanguard, the federal government said in this era of insecurity, violence, kidnapping, and other forms of social vices, the role of the brigade in civil intelligence gathering cannot be over emphasized. Garba Abari, the DG of National Orientation Agency had a meeting with national and state commanders of the community support brigade/WAI today.
The theme of the meeting was “Repositioning The WAI Brigade for Enhanced Civil Intelligence Gathering.” Lai Mohammed, the minister of information had earlier disclosed that WAI will be rebranded into Change Begins with Me (CBWM). As a military Head of State, President Buhari alongside Tunde Idiagbon launched a nationwide campaign called “War Against Indiscipline.” The program’s intention was to instill public morality, social order, civic responsibilities in Nigerians, and promote Nigerian nationalism. However, today, the programme has practically almost gone into extinction.
