The Vice Chairman of the Ekiti State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, (North Senatorial District), Mr Wale Aina, has on Thursday, July 28, been expelled by the Party.
This is coming at a time when his counterpart in Ekiti Central, Chief Femi George Ojo (Saribi), was also suspended.
As at press time, Post-Nigeria was unable to get the reason for their suspension.
This came barely 24 hours, when an Ekiti State High Court, sitting in Ijero, issued an arrest warrant against the APC State’s Chairman, Mr Jide Awe, among others. They are reportedly wanted for their alleged involvement in the murder of Mr Ayo Jeje and Mrs Juliana Adewumi, in Erinjiyan Ekiti, on March 30, 2013.
The warrant of arrest dated July 27, 2016, was issued based on the prayer of the Counsel for the Ekiti State Government, Yakubu Dauda, who asked the court to invoke Section 94 of the Ekiti State Administration of Criminal Justice Law, to compel the appearances of the accused persons before the court.
The judge was quoted as saying, “Consequently, I hereby invoke the provisions of Section 94 of the Ekiti State Administration of Criminal Justice Law, by ordering that Bench Warrants be issued against the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th defendants, to compel their appearances before this court at the next day of adjournment, and subsequently to stand for their trial.”
