Worried by the ongoing political instability in the country resulting from the incessant killings of farmers by Fulani herdsmen, the President-General of the apex Igbo socio-political organization, Chief John Nnia Nwodo, has called on the Southern governors to meet on regular basis to proffer their solutions and advice on emerging national issues as they affect the government and people of the Southern Nigeria.
He stated this in a statement issued in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.
According to him, the mobilisation of the Southern Governors into a formidable bloc will reposition them as an irresistible and indispensable body.
He said: “The deliberate and continuous lopsided federal appointments in favour of the North, the blatant, incessant and unfettered destruction of farms, rape of women and killing of innocent Nigerians by herdsmen among other issues demand that Nigerians of all walks of life rise up in defence of their right to life and human dignity.”
