Ex-President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Friday, August 5 left Nigeria for Zambia. GEJ is billed to lead the African Union Elections Observation Mission (AUEOM), in the country’s election scheduled take place on October 11, 2016.
It would be recalled that Jonathan also led a 33-nation observer mission to the Sunday, October 25, 2015 General Election held in Tanzania. A statement posted on AU’s website on Monday, August 1, stated that Jonathan would be leading members of the short term mission to join the continental body’s deployment of long term election experts who are already on ground in Zambia.
