The President Muhamamdu Buhari-led Department of State Security Services, DSS, has cleared the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, of any culpability in the N310 million, allegedly stolen from his Maitama home, in Abuja.
Recall, that one Abdulrasheed Maigari, a former DSS Operative, had said that he and others connived to steal the huge cash from the Senate President’s home, when they were working as security operatives in his house.
However, on Sunday night, the DSS said that the cash did not belong to Saraki, or any member of the National Assembly.
Earlier, Saraki had given a warning on Sunday evening, as he said that the alleged sum of N310 million, said to have been stolen from his home, was not true.
Reports had claimed that N310 million belonging to the Senate President, was stolen from a Bureau de Change Operator, in November, 2015.
Just recently, a 35-year-old kidnap suspect in the Police net, in Abuja, Abdulrasheed Maigari, alleged that he was part of the security men who stole the N310 million from the house of Saraki, in 2015.
However, reacting to the claim on Sunday, in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sani Onogu, he described the allegation as: “emanating from the infantile minds of unreasonable interlopers, hell bent on rubbing mud on the reputation of a distinguished Nigerian.”
