President Muhammadu Buhari, has forwarded two Ministerial nominees to the Senate for confirmation.
The two names are: Steven Ikani Ocheni, from Kogi State; and Suleiman Hassan, from Gombe State.
Ocheni, replaces James Ocholi, who died in a ghastly motor accident, in March last year.
On the other hand, Hassan replaces Amina Mohammed, who resigned from President Buhari’s cabinet, in January, to pick up a United Nations, UN, job in New York, United States of America.
President of the Senate, Senator Bukola Saraki, read the two names on the floor of the Senate, on Wednesday.
Buhari’s letter to the Senate red: “In accordance with Section 147 (2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), I have the honour to forward the under listed Ministerial nominees for confirmation of the Senate: Stephen Nkani Ocheni (Professor), Kogi State, and Suleiman Zana Hassan, Gombe State.
“Copies of their curriculum vitae (are) attached herewith. It is my hope that this exercise will receive the usual kind of expeditious consideration of the distinguished members of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Emerging report on Tuesday night, has revealed that President Muhammdu Buhari, has decided to embark on a major cabinet reshuffle, as he has submitted two new Ministerial nominees for confirmation, to the Senate.
A highly placed source in the Presidency, who confirmed this exclusively to Post-Nigeria, maintained that the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, had received the list of the two Ministerial nominees from the Presidency.
The source added, that Saraki would read out the names of the two nominees on Wednesday, for confirmation, as the Senate awaits a major cabinet reshuffle soonest.
The two Ministerial nominees are from Kogi and Gombe States.
As at the time of going to the press, Post-Nigeria had not yet confirmed the names of the would-be Ministers.
The two Ministers are expected to replace the former Minister of State for Labour and Employment, James Ocholi, who died in a ghastly motor accident, and former Minister of Environment, Amina Mohammed, who resigned after being appointed as the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations.
